DE PERE — The picture that Dan Smith drew this week hardly looked like a happy scene, but it re-created one of the former Marine's better wartime memories.

Using green, brown, red and black colored pencils, the Vietnam War veteran drew a row of guns firing into a jungle background, the rounds exploding into red plumes upon hitting their target.
"I'd rather draw the good times," a long-haired and bearded Smith said, explaining his drawing was of artillery training in the Philippines, not combat.

Too bad we don't have many more programs like this.

There are many forms of therapy for those with PTSD, this is one that's a good one!
