With costs mounting, the Senate Veterans Affairs Committee is laying the groundwork for a second look at the landmark 1991 Agent Orange law that has governed nearly two-decades of disability claims related to the herbicide widely used in the Vietnam War.

That was the consistent theme of a hearing Thursday that featured testimony by Cabinet secretaries past and present about living under the law's limits and navigating through the often vague scientific standards for judging what diseases qualify as service-connected claims.

Veterans and their families, I very strongly urge you to call TOLL FREE 866-272-6622 and ask for each of your Senators and Congressman (one call per rep) and politely demand they do not touch veteran benefits already in place except to enhance them and make them better.

Any reduction in benefits could literally kill thousands of people and hurt thousands of families!

PLEASE come Monday, pick up that phone and call them, it only takes a few minutes of your time, costs you absolutely nothing but time, unless you don't make the call then it could cost benefits!

Can you take that risk?

I am so confused about navy vets who served in the gulf of tonkin during 1966-67.According to Admiral Zumwall stated in1991 that he believed that agent orange drifted out to sea and affected our drinking water and bathing water.If blue water navy vets who served aboard us carriers in the gulf of tonkin during 1966-67 and received vietnam service and other medals be classified as viet-nam era vets?We gave up alot for serving in war zone for 9 months or more,I believe that blue water carrier vets are not be treated fair.WE all served a major role in the vietnam war and should not be treated as a seperate force.The last time I checked the U.S. NAVY is a major part of the american services.
